About Us

Properly Designed is an interior design firm based in Monterey County, California and was founded in 2002 by Cinda Steen.

With over 20 years of professional experience, Cinda has provided design services on numerous projects including private custom homes, model homes and sales offices, vacation homes, dental and orthodontic offices, optometry offices, and a multitude of residential projects both small and large.

Prior to founding Properly Designed, Cinda’s professional career included working as New Development Marketing Manager for Prometheus Development in the San Francisco Bay Area where she designed and decorated numerous model homes as well as marketing and planning special events including Grand Openings for numerous residential properties. During her 6 years with Prometheus, she was also involved in redesigning their model homes in Southern California and Arizona that were outdated and needed a fresh new look.

She also worked for Oakwood Worldwide as a National Account Manager where she managed a multi-million dollar client portfolio, working with Fortune 500 companies throughout the country to provide temporary housing for their employees. Cinda received numerous achievement and recognition awards including President’s Award, Sales Superstar, Top Networker, and Top Producer throughout her 10 years with Oakwood.

Cinda attended the Interior Design Program at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis/St. Paul. She is a member of Interior Design Industry Specialists (I.R.I.S.) and Interior Design Society (IDS) as well as the San Francisco Design Center (SFDC).
